Dina J. Padilla writes about the toxic exposures at the Arden Way, Sacramento, CA Kaiser

June 27th, 2009 at 12:56 pm edit

I also need to talk about how many employees were made sick at Kaiser’s buildings such as 3240 Arden Way, Sacramento, Ca., Morse Ave, Fair Oaks Clinic and others. We were exposed to asbestos, mold, pharmaceutical chemicals, building and maintenence chemcials, cleaning chemicals and biohazards such as HIV and MRSA.
Some employees are dead because of the exposures and many are sick. Only we didn’t get lifetime workers compensation. We ended up on our own social security and medicare benefits that WE paid for out of our lifetime earnings. The state of California is part of the problem as well as many state and federal agenices for ignoring our many exposures. SOME ARE CAL-OSHA, the EEOC, FEHA and many others. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR T LEAST 2 DECADES THAT I KNOW OF.
I’m aware of other kaiser related companies in otherc Califoria cities and counties and states that have similar problems AND the DOD and DOE are directly involved.
What is happening to employees of kaiser and other employees being exposed to irreversible effects of deadly toxins is an abomination on our government for allowing the buildings to be inhabited by either employees, patients, family members or the outside public. This is pervasive in the working class communties and criminally so for profit.
WE have a necessity to expose those who choose to pollute our air, water, soil and food supply. We have a profound obligation to not only protect ourselves, but also our families.
